Dúo D Dos
B i o g r a p h y
Duo D’ Dos was born in 2008 in Los Angeles, California. It is integrated by Roberto Sanchez and Majela Galardy. Both are graduates from the Superior Institute of the Arts (University of the Arts in Cuba) majoring in Classical Guitar.
The Duet was founded to express and perform the two different styles for which they feel most passionate, which are Classical Guitar and Cuban “Trova” (Trova Cubana). Also uniting this two contrasting worlds with another passion of theirs, is the use of vocal interpretation in all of the different facets, such as vocal percussion, trumpets, etc.
Their main framework consist in the continual mixture of all rhythms and styles ranging from old and new Cuban “Trova” (Trova Cubana) with the vocal music without discarding other variations such as "Feeling", Bolero and classical music. They also use different transcriptions and unique musical arrangements for the guitars.
As a duet, they have been influenced by several famous artists such as Duo Los Compadres, Buena Vista Social Club, Duo Confluencia, Duo Sincopa and Duo Postrova.

Their interpretations are based on constant mixture of all styles and rhythms of old and new Cuban music, including some of the most known , such as "Feeling" and " Bolero", as well as classical music and popular music of concert, using original transcriptions and arrangements for two guitars.
